Homage to Béjart

On the centenary of his birth and the twentieth anniversary of his death, La Scala and its Ballet Company pay tribute to Maurice Béjart with a trilogy of ballets celebrating the imagination of the great choreographer and his absolute uniqueness, which forever marked the history of dance. An emotional and choreographic journey through different musical universes, featuring two of his best-known, innovative and groundbreaking works, L’Oiseau de feu and Boléro. Choreographic and musical explosions of great impact frame Serait-ce la mort?, a delicate gem that will shine on our stage for the first time: an intense and moving journey to the boundaries of memory within the heart of the last four Lieder by Richard Strauss; a ballet about farewell, but also about the beauty of what remains imprinted in memory.
