- online at www.logscala.org (accessible also from mobile devices); you will then receive your customer code by e-mail.
Following registration, all tickets are registered in the name of the purchaser.
If a ticket is used by a person other than the buyer, the latter is required to issue a written proxy to the user, which must be performance at the entrance to the theatre together with the ticket and a copy of the buyer’s valid ID document. The proxy form is available from the Theatre Box Office (also at the time of purchase), or can be downloaded here.
If the buyer has purchased more than one ticket in his/her name, the presentation of a proxy is only necessary if the buyer will not be attending the performance.
In case the ticket is resold from the official Teatro alla Scala resale page, the original ticket will be annulled and refunded by bank transfer to the owner (with a 10% deduction for service fees) and a new ticket – for the same seat and value – will be issued and sent to the new purchaser, with his name on it.
Ticket delegation is not allowed for balcony tickets.
The Theatre reserves the right to verify the buyer’s identity before granting entry into the theatre by requesting ticket holders to present an identity document and the relevant proxy (if necessary): this is done to check the truthfulness of the data printed on the ticket, the correspondence between the person carrying the ticket and its registered buyer, and also the regularity of the sales service, ensuring that the ticket purchase process is not compromised or that any other ticket regulations are not violated.
Teatro alla Scala reserves the right to cancel the tickets in question and to deny access to the ticket holder in case of violation of the present regulation; the Theatre also reserves the right to forbid the sale of tickets for the current and upcoming seasons to customers implicated in irregular ticket purchases or irregular behaviours in the theatre.
Ticket validity
Tickets cannot be cancelled, replaced or refunded.
It is possible to propose your tickets for resale only on the official Teatro alla Scala resale page.
Tickets are only valid for the date, time and place indicated thereon, it is therefore recommended that you check whether these details are correct at the time of purchase.
Tickets must be presented intact and in their original form; they are valid for a single entrance and cannot be reused after they have been validated at the first access check point into the Theatre.
In the case of non-use or of the customer’s failure to attend a performance, tickets cannot be shifted to another date.
In the case of loss or theft, the buyer must fill in and hand in a self-declaration of ticket loss or theft to the Theatre Box Office no later than 2 hours before the start of the performance, together with a copy of his/her identity document.
In the event of live filming, for artistic purposes or reasons beyond its control, the Theatre reserves the right to make seat changes, allotting customers affected seats of equivalent or higher category (based on availability), or offering them similar seats for an alternative date. This does not however constitute grounds for a refund.
The Theatre Direction reserves the right to make changes to the cast for artistic purposes or reasons beyond its control, but this does not entail the right to a refund of the ticket price. The Theatre will communicate such changes in advance on its website and, when possible, by e-mail.
Cancellation of performances and refund methods
Refunds will be processed only in case of a date variation or the cancellation of a performance.
Should the date of a performance be changed or a performance be cancelled for any reason, ticket holders are entitled to a full refund of the ticket price, that is the amount indicated on the coupon, including any pre-sale fee, without prejudice to any of the consumer rights recognised by the law; refunds may be requested within 30 days of the changed / cancelled performance date, without prejudice to any other of the consumer rights recognised by the law.
Refund methods:
- for tickets purchased online, the amount will automatically be credited to the ticket holder’s account by the end of the month following the date of the performance;
- for tickets purchased at the Theatre Box Office, the amount will be credited by bank transfer following the handing-in of the original coupon and bank details (IBAN and, in case of residence or foreign current account, BIC / SWIFT) to the Box Office;
- for subscriptions, the refund of the unused portion of the season ticket will be effected by bank transfer.
Any further information regarding the canceled events and the relative extraordinary reimbursement procedures will be communicated by email to the holders of tickets and season tickets and published on www.teatroallascala.org.
Offical Resale of Teatro alla Scala Tickets
In case you are unable to attend a performance purchased online on our website, it is possible to officially propose your tickets for resale on the official Teatro alla Scala resale page, in a safe and transparent procedure in compliance with the Italian law on secondary ticketing.
This website is the only official resale channel for Teatro alla Scala tickets: do not buy from other unauthorized secondary ticket websites.
Resale terms and conditions
The resale service applies only to:
- single tickets (no subscriptions, gift codes, carnets, pass, discounted tickets) purchased ONLINE, on the Teatro alla Scala website, at INTERO (full) fare;
- for selected opera, ballet and concert performances, where the resale button or banner is shown on the website;
- no later than 24 hours from the beginning of the performance.
The sale proposal must be made by the ticket purchaser, logging in with the same account used to purchase the ticket.
To check if a ticket is eligible for the resale proposal, log in to your reserved area: you will see a red “Resell” button next to the ticket details in your “My tickets” purchase history.
The resale procedure is activate for one single ticket at a time. By repeating the operation, you can then propose the other tickets for resale as well.
The ticket must be offered at the purchase price: the sale will be completed only when a new buyer confirms the transaction by buying it online on the official resale platform.
Please note that the resale proposal is binding in case a new buyer is found. However, until a buyer is found, the proposal can be withdrawn anytime in the dedicated page.
In case the resale is completed, the resold ticket will be immediately cancelled and refunded to the seller (by bank transfer, within the end of the following month, with a 10% deduction for commission fees) and a new ticket will be issued, registered to the new buyer.
The success of the resale is communicated by email to the two parties, that do not need to be in contact with each other. In this way, the procedure is entirely compliant with data protection provisions.
Please note that Teatro alla Scala is not responsible for any incomplete resale due to the lack of an interested buyer, any downtimes of the website or internet connection problems or any misconduct on the reseller side.
The service is reserved to occasional, non-professional users, as a ticket exchange instrument for final consumers. By reselling a ticket, the user must verify that no contractual norm or obligation is violated. The reseller remains liable for any misconducts in this sense.
It is also responsibility of the reseller to check if the resale was successful, which means the tickets are now invalidated and refunded. If no buyer was found within 24 hours before the beginning of the performance, the resale is incomplete, as the service ends 24 hours prior to the beginning of the performance.
