Happy Birthday to Roberto Bolle

Milan, 26 March 2025

For Roberto Bolle, March 26 will mark a special date - an important anniversary, both personally and beyond. Of his fifty years, two-thirds have been spent at La Scala, in the rehearsal studio and on stage. Trained at the prestigious La Scala Ballet School, Roberto’s name first appeared on the theatre’s historic playbills on January 21, 1994, as part of the cast of the Marquises in Rudolf Nureyev’s The Sleeping Beauty. Just a year later, he took on his first soloist role - Espada in Nureyev’s Don Quixote - and in 1995, he earned his first étoile role: Romeo in Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet. Roberto’s extraordinary talent quickly emerged, propelling him beyond La Scala’s borders while always remaining deeply connected to his home theatre. Among the countless roles he has performed are Romeo, Albrecht, Siegfried, Onegin, and many more - each a testament to his artistic and personal growth. As Roberto prepares to celebrate this milestone, the entire theatre celebrates with him. A special birthday, but also another major achievement on the horizon: he is close to reaching 500 performances with La Scala. Happy birthday, Roberto!
