“We are happy to confirm that our shared initiative with La Scala is a constructive response to our objectives at the Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lombardia. In the arts and culture sector, as in others, our aim and our vocation is to promote high-value paths of action that function as a driving force for development”, says Aldo Poli, FBML President.
Established in 1992, the Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lombardia is a banking foundation committed to interventions in the cultural arena, one of the key sectors in which it fulfils its institutional objectives, concerned exclusively with social initiatives and the promotion of economic development in the Milan and Lombardy regions. In the arts sector, the foundation has provided extensive support to many different initiatives alongside traditional interventions in the areas of scientific research and advanced training, healthcare, assistance for disadvantaged social groups, conservation and the promotion of environmental resources.
The partnership established between the Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lombardia and the Teatro alla Scala, starting with the reopening of the opera house in 2004, has been highly diverse over the years: a shared project of promotion, innovation and collaboration between the non-profit organisation and this great cultural institution.
Since 2008, the Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lombardia has also been a permanent founding member of the La Scala Foundation.
