NOTES ON THE PERFORMANCE
For the 2018-2019 season, the Accademia Project doubles up, presenting three new titles. In fact, before the summer break Ádám Fischer will lead the orchestra and the young soloists of the Accademia in a performance featuring two one-act operas, one by Salieri and the other by Puccini. Commissioned by Emperor Joseph II and performed in Schönbrunn along with Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor, Prima la musica e poi le parole (“First the music and then the words”) will be directed by Grischa Asagaroff, while Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, coming to La Scala from Los Angeles in Woody Allen’s classic production, will see students of the Accademia sharing the stage with Ambrogio Maestri.
