Each year, in every La Scala season, the Theatre’s Marketing Department works in collaboration with new partners on special projects tied to an event or a cycle of artistic events.
Projects may be oriented around the celebration of a special occasion and/or anniversary, a means of developing co-marketing and PR activities, repositioning brands or promoting unique aspects common to two seemingly diverse but actually interconnected fields by virtue of their shared values.

La Scala is famous the world over for its exceptional artistic standards, thanks to an extensive tour schedule that includes performances in some of the best-known theatres in Italy and abroad.
La Scala’s international vocation began on its one-hundredth birthday. In 1878, the Orchestra of La Scala gave a series of concerts at the Trocadéro in Paris for the Universal Exposition. Thirty-one years later, the company performed its first opera abroad. From 1878 to 2012 around 120 international touring projects will have been accomplished, totalling 700 performances in 37 countries.

Each year, over 230,000 tourists from all over the world visit La Scala’s Theatre Museum, a recorded history of the prestigious La Scala opera house from its beginnings to the present day. The museum’s elegant spaces, with their collections of musical instruments, portraits and original documents, are home to important works of art, and photography and costume displays are hosted here on a regular basis.
