Lectures – Introducing Der Ring
Der Ring des Nibelungen is a masterpiece that should be approached with some prior preparation. For this reason, the two cycles of the Ring are to be presented in a series of eight brief lectures – one for each individual performance.
Each one will last approximately 50 minutes and will help both experts and beginners a like trace the events of the complicated plot around which the various stories twist and turn. The lectures will be given in Italian (with simultaneous translation in English). The piano will be used to allow the speakers to illustrate to the audience some of the famous Leitmotivs of Wagner’s musical drama, which are part of the substance of the plot, even part of the drama itself.
The lectures will be held at the Centro Congressi di Fondazione Cariplo, in Via Romagnosi, 8, very close to the Theatre.
Free entrance is subject to seating availability.
Invitations will be reserved for Der Ring Subscribers, subject to seating availability.
