Primary Schools


The Teatro alla Scala’s cultural policy, which seeks to open the theatre to the young and the very young, is also aimed at 5th-grade primary school pupils. Within the "Invitation to La Scala" initiative, the Cultural Promotion Department gives the opportunity to attend one performance, to be chosen between:

  • a repertoire ballet of the classical tradition, characterized by a narrative style
  • a concert the characteristics of which allow young audience to come closer to the music

The detailed offer for the current season can be obtained upon simple request via fax to the Cultural Promotion Department:


Tickets must be collected around 10 days before the performance. At that time, the responsible must hand in the report on the activities carried out in order to prepare the pupils to the performance. 


Junior High Schools


The Teatro alla Scala’s cultural policy, which seeks to open the shows to the young and the very young, is also aimed at 5th-grade primary school pupils. Within the "Invitation to La Scala" initiative, the Cultural Promotion Department gives the opportunity to attend one or two performance, to be chosen between:

  • a ballet
  • a concert the characteristics of which allow young audience to come closer to the music
  • a concert rehearsal of the philharmonic season

The detailed offer for the current season can be obtained upon simple request via fax to the Cultural Promotion Department

Upper Secondary Schools


The Teatro alla Scala provides upper secondary school students with the opportunity to see numerous performances which are part of the Teatro alla Scala season. Part of this initiative are not only shows belonging to the "Invitation to La Scala" programme, but all the performances that are not included in the subscription series. 


The performances proposed are part of ad hoc cultural programmes, which aim at a conscious participation of young audiences and gives them the opportunity to know and appreciate each theatre genre at the Teatro alla Scala.

The detailed offer for the current season, which can be obtained upon simple request via fax to the Cultural Promotion Department, includes the possibility to attend three, two or one performances. 


General Information

All applications will have to mention the preferred title and date. Seats will be assigned while availability lasts. 

The participation request must be sent by fax, on a headed letter-paper signed by the Executive of the organization, indicating:

  • the telephone and fax numbers of the school
  • the e-mail address
  • the chosen date and any possible availability for another date
  • the number of classes interested (with a maximum of two classes per school)
  • if relevant, the compulsory need to have seats assigned in the Gallery
  • the name of the teacher responsible for the school outing

Please note that the participation request is not a booking but only a sign of interest, which has to approved the Cultural Promotion Dept.
