A synthesis of ballet and music, in its most complete form. The precious baton of Daniel Harding honours three musical masterpieces of the 20th century, celebrating Maurice Béjart, the choreographer who in his long career gave so much to La Scala.

Mahler’s Chant du compagnon errant is at the heart of the tribute evening, surrounded by two ballets superimposing Stravinsky’s innovative music with the great Béjartian messages: the famous L’oiseau de feu, with the rising of the blazing phoenix and Le sacre du printemps, an exaltation of the rebirth of life.

The Teatro alla Scala regretfully announces that Roberto Bolle will have to rest for several weeks following a minor operation aimed at treating a recent indisposition.

For this reason the etoile will not be able to dance Chant du compagnon errant with Massimo Murru, one of the three choreographies that make up the Serata Béjart. The role of Roberto Bolle will be performed by Gabriele Corrado, a young dancer of Teatro alla Scala.
