A special event entirely dedicated to young people: on 4 December the Teatro alla Scala opens its doors to the UNDER30 audience for the preview of Bizet’s
Carmen. This represents a unique opportunity to see, for a mere 10 euro and before the “regular” audience, the opera that opens the 2009-2010 season. Sicilian director Emma Dante and “maestro scaligero” Daniel Barenboim have created a brand new production with heavy Mediterranean tones.
The event, which rapidly sold out, is part of the LaScalaUNDER30 project, the programme that La Scala offers to anyone aged 6 to 30, with numerous exclusive promotions and events.
Another preview, this time for the ballet, will take place in May with Trittico Novecento, a triple bill of choreographies by George Balanchine and Francesco Ventriglia.
Due to sudden ill health, Jonas Kaufmann will not be able to sing tonight for the Preview of “Carmen”. He will be replaced by tenor Riccardo Massi.
