This is a stimulating and eccentric start for the “Invitation to La Scala” series, which is dedicated to young people and senior citizens.
Three principals of La Scala – clarinettist Fabrizio Meloni, violinist Klaidi Sahatci and cellist Alfredo Persichilli –, as well as pianist Roberto Prosseda and Elio (of the Italian band Le Storie Tese), will perform a piece by Luca Lombardi. The texts are by Luciano Violante.
It will be followed by a masterpiece of chamber music: Messiaen’s Quatuor pour la fin du temps, which he composed in a German war camp in 1940.
