After Juliet and Carmen, another emblematic feminine role comes to the fore in La Dame aux Camélias, one of the most complete examples of dance drama by John Neumeier, inspired by the novel of Alexandre Dumas (son).
The story of Marguerite Gautier and Armand Duval, accompanied by the yearning musical notes of Fryderyk Chopin, is told by means of an intense and refined choreographic language and a splendid set. The neo-classical vocabulary takes us through splendid and passionate pas de deux, big danced scenes for the corps de ballet. All the while it highlights the soloists at the climatic moments of the drama.
