A sprain has obliged Roberto Bolle to cancel his three performances in Swan Lake. Prince Siegfried will therefore be performed on 10, 12 and 15 April by Guillaume Côté, principal of the National Ballet of Canada.

The splendour of an enchanted lake and a dream of love realised: with its own particular ending Vladimir Bourmeister's version of Swan Lake returns to La Scala in April. The ballet entered the La Scala repertoire in 2004 in a new, sumptuous staging by Roberta Guidi di Bagno. After opening the ballet season, it is shown for the second time in 2007/08 owing to its enormous popularity.

The double role of Odette/Odile will be performed by Svetlana Zakharova, who was recently named etoile of the Teatro alla Scala, and by the Scala principal Marta Romagna and the young Antonella Albano, who debuts in the role.

Prince Siegfried will be Guillaume Côté, principal of the National Ballet of Canada, alternately with the Scala principal Alessandro Grillo and Massimo Garon.
