Luciano Pavarotti

Twenty-eight years of regular presence, 140 opera and recital performances: Luciano Pavarotti’s career at La Scala was a long, distinguished and vibrant one. It started in September 1964 with a recital with other young singers, and ended in December 1992 with Don Carlo.

To pay tribute to the great tenor La Scala and the Teatro di Modena have organised an International Voice Competition dedicated to Luciano Pavarotti in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Heritage.

The competition will take place at the Modena Theatre from 28 September to 4 October 2008 and is open to young singers from the world over. The deadline for enrolment to the competition is 31 July 2008.

La Scala will give the opportunity to the winner to sing at La Scala in one of the productions of the next seasons.
