On Thursday 6 December at 8 pm, Daniel Barenboim and Patrice Chéreau will offer an extraordinary performance of Igor Stravinsky’s L’histoire du soldat (A Soldier’s Tale) to the students of the universities and schools of Milan.
The day before Sant’Ambrogio, the conductor and the director of the Tristan und Isolde that opens the 2007-08 Season will be the conductor and the narrator of the chamber work that Stravinsky composed in 1918 after a tale by the Russian folklorist Afanasiev. A true “gift” to the city.
Francesco De Angelis (violin), Giuseppe Ettorre (double bass), Fabrizio Meloni (clarinet), Gabriele Screpis (bassoon), Francesco Tamiati (cornet), Giuseppe Grandi (trombone) and Gabriele Bianchi (percussions) are the seven soloists of the small but virtuoso ensemble.
