Founders
The Teatro alla Scala Foundation, which is a not-for-profit organisation, promotes the diffusion of the musical art. It puts on opera and ballet productions as well as concerts in Italy and abroad. It preserves and enhances the creative, musical, artistic, technical and professional heritage.
The Teatro alla Scala’s Founders are not only sponsors, they can also actively participate in the achievement of the Foundation’s objectives. Founders are therefore active players in the creation of an irreplaceable cultural heritage, and bring their corporate culture and financial resources.
Participation Characteristics:
- Involvement in the life and activities of the Theatre, from the presentation of the artistic plans to the “exploitation” of the staging
- Development of every new component of the “Scala System”: the workshops, the theatre museum, the Piermarini stage
- Right to vote and participate in the works of the Founders’ Board
- Minimum fee of 520.000 € per year
- Fiscal tax-deducibility of the investment
Founders’ role in the institutional communication of the Teatro alla Scala:
- Founders have a dedicated page with the other Founders in all the programme booklets of operas, ballets and concerts. This page is also published in the season’s calendar (150 000 copies) and in all the publishing projects (celebration books, children’s books, etc.) and institutional projects (desk and pocket diaries) of the Teatro alla Scala.
- The Founders’ logos and a link to their website appear on the website of the Teatro alla Scala (www.teatroallascala.org).
- At the end of every performance of the opera season, a text thanking the Founders for their role of supporter appears on the credits that are shown on the Text displays in the auditorium.
Founder’s Role in Public Relations:
- Founders are invited to the all the conference presenting the operas.
- Founders are invited to the diners with the artists organised by the Teatro alla Scala after the opening nights.
- Founders are entitled to passes for an orchestra staging rehearsal of an opera or ballet during the season, in agreement with production needs.
- Founders are entitled to passes for some pre-dress rehearsals during the season.
- Founders can enjoy guided tours of the new stage and of the Theatre’s "backstage".
- Founders can enjoy guided tours in the extraordinary Ansaldo workshops of Via Tortona.
- Founders are entitled to invitations for premieres of Theatre’s productions touring in Italy and abroad. Furthermore, communication activities may be organised, according to the specific exigencies of the Founders.
- Founders can organise dedicated events (meeting, presentations, special events, etc.) in the Museum, on favourable terms; Founders will furthermore be entitled to a (to be defined) number of free entries to visit the prestigious collections of the Museum.
- Founders are entitled to organise dedicated events in the splendid Visconti Pavilion within the Teatro alla Scala workshops.
- In agreement with the Theatre, Founders have the possibility to use the Circles Foyer on favourable terms for events/gala diners for their own guests.
Founder’s role in the use of the product:
- Founders are granted a number of tickets (to define) per season for all opera and ballet titles, for the Christmas Concert and for every concert of the Symphonic Season.
- Founders benefit from priority booking for further ticket purchase, a box office costs.
- Founders enjoy priority to join outstanding artistic projects for which the Theatre is looking for sponsors, amongst which the season’s opening on 7 December, the Christmas Concert, recitals, tours in Italy and abroad, temporary exhibitions at the La Scala Theatre Museum, publishing projects, multimedia projects, projects of preservation/development of the La Scala heritage (photos, sketches, set models, costumes...)
- Dedicated Events/Nights can be organised for Founders, which will be developed to highlight their contribution in the Theatre.
- Founders have the possibility to purchase performances programmed at the Teatro alla Scala at extremely favourable terms in comparison to other companies.
Fiscal tax breaks for Founders
Teatro alla Scala’s Founders can benefit from the following tax breaks: Deductibility from the business income for the whole amount of donations made according to Art. 65 Paragraph 2 Letter C nonies of the T.U.I.R. (“Testo Unico delle Importe sui Redditi”) (as stated in Art. 38 of Law 342/2000) starting from the tax period ongoing on 31 December 2001: "(...) donations in support of (...) legally recognized Foundations (...), are completely deductible, for the accomplishment of their institutional tasks and for the realization of cultural programmes in the cultural heritage and performing arts sectors".
