Guidelines for the Public
- The Season Programme is available free of charge from the Box Offices and reception desks. It can be mailed on receipt of the sum of € 5 for residents in Italy and Europe, and € 10 for residents of other countries, payable by bank draft made out to “Fondazione Teatro alla Scala” and addressed to Ufficio Spedizioni, Teatro alla Scala, via Filodrammatici 2, 20121 Milano.
- Performance programmes are on sale at the Central and Evening Box Offices and at LaScalaShop, from the day of the first performance. They are also available in the auditorium during the performances. Programmes for the opening opera “Carmen” cost € 20, all other operas € 15, ballets € 10 and concerts € 5.
Performance programmes of previous seasons are sold at the LaScalaShop, subject to availability.
- Chamber Concerts of the Teatro alla Scala Academy for Performing Arts Series of concerts in the “Arturo Toscanini” Boxes Foyer. From one week before each performance, tickets are sold at the Central Box Office - Duomo, from 12 noon to 6 pm. From one hour before the start of the performance, tickets that are still available will be sold at the Evening Box Office – Via Filodrammatici. Ticket price: € 10.
- Filarmonica della Scala Orchestra Season. Tickets and subscriptions are on sale at the office of the “Associazione Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala”, Piazza Diaz, 6 (4th Floor). For further information, please call the Filarmonica on +39 02.72.023.671 or +39 02.72.003.383.

- Milano Musica 2009 Season: Tickets and subscriptions are sold at the Box Office of Milano Musica, situated in the Central Box Office of the Teatro alla Scala, Piazza del Duomo.
Subscriptions
From Wednesday 3 to Saturday 20 June 2009 and from Tuesday 1 to Thursday 24 September 2009. Open Monday to Saturday, 12 noon to 6 pm.
Tickets
From Monday 10 September until the end of the festival.
Open Monday to Saturday, 12 noon to 6 pm (on days of concerts, also on Sundays).
The box office will also be open one hour before the start of the performance, in the auditorium where the concert takes place.

Box Office Guidelines
- Purchased tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged.
- Tickets are only valid for the date specified on the ticket. Patrons are kindly requested to check their ticket accurately at the time of purchase. Should the ticket failed to be used, patrons shall not be entitled to convert it to another date.
- All prices shown in this programme include taxes.
- The sale of tickets carried out by unauthorised persons is forbidden.
- Tickets reserved and purchased via Internet, Automatic Telephone Booking Service and Authorised Sales Agents carry the purchaser’s full name and address, while subscriptions carry the full name and address of the holder.
In accordance with Italian Law 196/2003, the Theatre guarantees the confidentiality of personal information and that such information shall be used exclusively for the purposes of delivering tickets and/or subscriptions or for communications regarding the Theatre. - In case of loss of tickets or subscription cards, patrons should present themselves directly at the Evening Box Office on the day of the performance and should fill in a specific self-certification form indicating the exact seats of the lost ticket or subscription. Only the holder of the ticket or subscription is entitled to fill in the self-certification.
- It is not permitted to remain on the Box Office premises for more than such time as is necessary to purchase tickets.
- Should a performance be cancelled, patrons shall be refunded the cost of the ticket directly at the Central Box Office – Duomo, during the seven days following the scheduled date of the cancelled performance.
Theatre Guidelines
The Teatro alla Scala invites the public to respect the following guidelines:
- All members of the audience must be in possession of a valid ticket or entrance pass, which must be kept available for inspection at all times and must be shown upon request to the Theatre Staff. Members of the audience are also required to occupy the seats allocated to them.
- Access to the seating area is not permitted after the start of the performance. Latecomers will be asked to wait in the Foyer until the first break in the performance to take their seats.
- Children under 6 are not allowed in the Theatre.
- Gentlemen are advised to wear black tie for premieres and are in any case always advised to wear a jacket and tie. The Theatre recommends items of clothing which comply with a proper theatre decorum for all performances.
- All umbrellas, hats, bags, photographic equipment, audio and video recorders and mobile phones must be left in the cloakroom. Gentlemen are kindly requested to leave overcoats and coats in the cloakroom. The cloakroom service is provided free of charge.
- Please observe a correct behaviour and remain silent in the auditorium.
- The use of mobile phones is prohibited in the auditorium.
- Photography and any kind of recording of sound or pictures are prohibited in the Theatre.
- In accordance with Law 584/75 smoking is prohibited on the Theatre premises.
- All food and drinks must be consumed exclusively in the Theatre bars. It is forbidden to bring glasses and food into the auditorium and boxes.
- Members of the audience are invited to refer to the Area Inspectors or to the Head Usher if any problem or need should arise.
